PJ Berri Desktop Playground (ISO+Scans)

After being lost media for nearly 20 years, someone has finally uploaded an ISO file (and scans!) of the PJ Berri Desktop Playground CD-ROM to Archive.org! All credit goes to "Media-Monster".

The question is: Is it as exciting as it sounds? No, not really... It's basically just a collection of screensavers, desktop buddies and icons. Kind of like a watered down version of the other Parappa CD-ROMs, which is fair since this was priced at 15$ brand new, while the others were 30-40$. There's no interactive menus like the other CD-ROMs have, you'll have to explore the disc through a file explorer to find the content it has to offer. Anyways, it's still worth downloading if you're a hardcore fan, so enjoy!

PJ Berri no Mogumogu MunyaMunya - Complete Series (26ep) RAW + Subs

A couple of members from Lost Media Wiki found a way to rip the entire first season of "PJ Berri no Mogu Mogu Munya Munya" from the Japanese streaming site Fuji on Demand (FOD) and posted it online, so I'll just forward the link to everyone following this blog! I'm also including subbed episodes from season 2 of the show, which I've uploaded to my usual Mediafire account.

But what is "PJ Berri no Mogumogu MunyaMunya"? It's basically a spin-off Anime with PJ Berri as the main character, working together with cafe owners "Parappa" and "Chop Chop Master Onion" as a fortune teller. He gets new requests every day and all of them are solved by him dozing off, talking in his sleep or screaming something as he wakes up from a nightmare. It's a pretty interesting show, but season 1 may be a bit hard to follow if you don't know basic Japanese as it doesn't have any subtitles . Still worth watching if you're a hardcore fan, though! Season 2 switched over to flash animation and looks much, much cheaper than the first season, but it's still BEAR-able (sorry).

Parappa the Rapper 2 Original Soundtrack (FLAC+BIN+Scans)

It's finally here, after nearly 20 years of waiting! Low quality rips has existed since the early 2000s, but for the first time ever (unless you own the CD), you can experience every track in its intended quality! As you probably can see on the image below, this was a rental copy and had some damages. The content of the CD is identical to the retail version, but the cover was pretty badly damaged... So sorry about that, but I don't have another copy to scan. This copy costed me ~30$, while a copy in very good condition is valued at 100$ or more on Amazon JP right now. I decided that it's the content that matters, so I went ahead and bought this fairly abused copy!

This CD contains a few desktop toys and a music video as well (which was a very nice surprise!), so browse through the files on the disc if that sounds interesting! Both music and digital toys, not a bad deal, huh?

Updates (9th October 2020)

Hello everyone! It has almost been five years since my last post, huh? I really appreciate all the nice comments everyone has posted and it's frankly touching to see that people still care for this franchise!

There hasn't really been much else to upload recently besides the legendary "PJ Berri Desktop Playground" CD-ROM I'm still searching for (EDIT: Found it), but after leaving this site alone for such a long time, I'm planning to give it a few updates:

First of all, I'm going to upload bin/cue and lossless flac files of all the music albums from the "Parappa the Rapper" franchise. Yeah, 320kbps is nice, but it would've been even better to get all the albums in their intended quality, especially if you're using headphones or a high quality stereo to listen to music! I've also been able to get my hands on the "Parappa the Rapper 2 OST" album, which includes a few bonuses like a music video and some desktop stuff!

Second, I'm going to rename the site to "Parappa the Rapper Download Paradise". I'm doing this to make it easier for people to find it through their preferred search engine, as well as letting newcomers know what this site is all about. I was planning to post news as well, but... I.... forgot. Something that's worth mentioning is that there have been a few Parappa events exclusive to Japan recently, as well as a new Anime called "PJ Berri no MoguMogu MunyaMunya" released a few years ago. They're also selling leftover Parappa goods from the events on the "Fuji TV" location, so make sure to visit the shop there if you're in Japan! I got myself 100$ worth of goods when I visited Japan just before the whole virus situation.

Third, I'll add my e-mail address here just in case people want to ask me something, give me something they want added to the site (which will, of course, be credited) or just talk about Parappa. I've gotten a few messages on different social media accounts where people aren't even sure if I'm the right person or not, so it's better if I just give you guys an easy way to contact me.

Until next time!

Rodney Fun Comic Collection Vol. 1

Here's a comic collection drawn by the creator of the Parappa franchise, Rodney Alan Greenblat. The comics are pretty basic with no coloring or shading, just outlines of the characters we all know and love in different colors. But are they interesting? You bet!

Vol 1 - PJ and his daily routines. Eating and sleeping during daytime, DJ at night. However, his dreams are a whole other story...

Vol 2 - Sunny Funny wants to host a garden party, but has some preparations to be done with first. Unfortunately, not everyone appreciates what she has to offer...

Vol 3 - Katy Kat has a hard time adjusting to the adult lifestyle. She's working all day long, but still can't afford renting a decent apartment. Some of her belongings are even falling to pieces! But her shopping dreams aren't over when she one day experiences a very pleasant surprise...

Vol 4 - Parappa wants money to buy a new video game, but has a hard time adjusting to a job.

Vol 5 - Non-Parappa. Square Bear's really absurd adventures, completely without text, open to interpretation.

The album is titled "volume 1", but there were never any additional volumes of this series. Such a shame, really.

All credits goes to "Rich", a fellow Parappa fan who provided me with these comics in all their digital glory.

Parappa the Rapper Complete Anime Series (Ep. 1-30+Scans+Extras) RAW

Parappa the Rapper lives in ParappaTown with his friends: PJ (The grooviest DJ bear in town), Paula (A fox who always speaks her mind and loves doing sports), Katy (A cat with a sense for fashion), Matt (An intellectual and reasonable dog), Sunny (A cute sunflower and the main character's crush, but easily saddened) and, of course, Parappa (A teenaged dog who has a heart of gold, never gives up and wants to catch the attention of Sunny Funny). There's many weird happenings in Parappa Town with these guys around, and it really heats up when two despicable thiefs, Gaster and Gruber, moves into the town and starts wrecking havoc!

Unlike the video games, there's little to no musical sequences in the series. There are two tracks from the games used in a few episodes, as well as four unique opening and ending themes, but nothing more. The show pushes morals heavily, as well as problem solving in comedic situations. It's clearly made for a younger audience than the games and doesn't have the wacky humor the games are known for, but you'll probably enjoy this anyway if you're a hardcore fan.

I planned to do this myself, but a kind soul beat me to it. Youtube user "oddMLan" uploaded the contents of my torrent (from Nyaa) and made it available for direct download! Thanks a lot!

Parappa the Rapper 2 Desktop Accessories + Parappa on Screen (ISO+Scans)

When Parappa the Rapper was at the peak of popularity in the late 90s and early 2000s, merchandise were flourishing. Toasters, vinyl scratchers, pill boxes... Whatever you can think of had Parappa's face on it. Parappa related media was huge as well, with official soundtracks from every game, a TV-show on DVD and, last but not least, desktop accessories. "Desktop accessories" were really popular in Japan at the time and almost every major anime, manga or video game got one. Here's two discs of Parappa goodness, like: wallpapers, Windows themes, desktop mascots, digital clocks, screensavers... Basically everything you can wish for when you want to give your computer a complete Parappa overhaul!

"Parappa on Screen" is based on the first game and offers animated screensavers with instrumental songs from the game. The main menu is a map of Parappa town, and every building will give you an unique screensaver based on the location it's at.

"Parappa Desktop Accessories" is based on the second game and has a much simpler menu than the previous title, but offers much more content. You have calendars, wallpapers, windows themes, screensavers and desktop mascot, all in a simple-to-use interface. Keep in mind that everything's in Japanese, so you may be a bit lost if you can't read it.

PS: This software will ask for a serial key when you run the installer. Please use the code bundled together with the iso.
